Occupational Therapy

Occupational therapy focuses on the development of life skills that enable the child to function purposefully within his or her environment. This can include, but is not limited to, development in the area of fine motor/hand skills, daily living skills, visual perceptual skills and other areas of sensory processing.

Our Occupational therapy team also treats sensory processing deficits that potentially cause learning, attention, coordination and behavioral problems and are experts in the area of sensory integration treatment.

A great defininition of occupational therapy is a profession concerned with promoting health and well-being through occupation. The primary goal of occupational therapy is to enable people to participate in the activities of everyday life. Occupational therapists achieve this outcome by enhancing the individual's ability to participate, by modifying the environment, or by adapting the activity to better support participation.
